New Extension
I think we’ve finally settled on details for the official opening event enough for me to commit it to the everlasting archive that is the internet.
On Saturday 16th October, we will be having a brief open evening from 5:30, for general nosy-ing around the extension. We will have information about the events we run at the church, and the regular groups that use the facilities.
At 6pm, we will be having a short service of thanksgiving, followed by tea/coffee etc and cakes (which if they look like the pictures we’ve been given will be both miraculous and delicious).
At around 7:30 we will be having a Quiz Aid evening in support of Christian Aid. Come along with a team, or by yourself (we’ll find some friendly faces for you to team up with).

Quick update – Evening services will now be restarting on the 19th now, as it wasn’t actually announced this Sunday.

Wow, looking at the website you’d think that was the quickest summer ever. For anyone under 18, it probably felt like it too. I remember the days…
Anyway, Sun 5th marks the last week of our summer schedule. After that we’ll be back to everything as usual I think.
JAM and The Edge restart on 10th, and the evening services restart on the 12th. Prayer meetings and Mums & Toddlers never stopped.
Oh yes, and the new toilets are open!
We’re not quite finished with some bits of the new building, like the car park and offices. We have plenty to finish off, but we’ll announce the date of the dedication and celebration soon. Probably a Sat at the end of the month, but we have to let Dave recover from the wedding before we sort that out.

If you’ve been keeping up with the building page, you’ll know (in the huge gaps between posts) that we’re nearly done now.
The current aim is to have the car park done next week (w/c 23rd). The front doors are due to go in on 27th, and the carpets will be going down partly before and partly after the front doors (since we don’t want the rain getting onto them yet).
Since the temporary toilets need taking up for the car park to be resurfaced, we will have no loos from about 23rd until we open the new facilities. This will be during the service on 29th (even though we will be a little light on carpet at that point). Anyone desperate to use the facilities before then will have to go to the church office.
