Harvest Festival service this Sun

// September 28th, 2011 // Comments Off // Events, News

It’s our Harvest Festival this week – the key service in our 6 week harvest series. A great chance to celebrate all the good things God provides for us in our everyday life (obviously thinking particularly of the food).

Don’t worry if you’ve not been to the other weeks (they all stand alone, but do follow a theme), this will be a great week for the whole family to join in an celebrate with us.

We’ll be taking a collection of food (as is traditional) and this will be partly given to the Bournemouth food bank run by local churches, and partly to our Spin group that meets and eats on a Wed afternoon.

Any gifts will be gratefully received, but if you don’t have anything planned yet the following list are things that will be particularly useful:

Tea, coffee, instant hot chocolate . Tinned fruit, ketchup, uht milk, tinned fruit and veg, potatoes, dilute juice/squash. Tinned custard, sugar, flour, mayonnaise, tuna.

Grid 4 – 23rd Sept

// September 23rd, 2011 // Comments Off // Events, The Grid, Youth

The Grid is back tonight (and my apologies for not posting this sooner).

Joe Hobday from Weymouth Baptist church will be speaking (and I’ve  heard great things about him, but then all the speakers at the Grid are nothing short of excellent).

Tickets on sale now, or at the door £3, starts at 7:30. Come along. Seriously, you’ll hear the music from your house anyway, so you might as well be there and enjoy the whole night.

JAM & the Edge start again this week

// September 8th, 2011 // Comments Off // Jam, The Edge

JAM logoThe Edge LogoDon’t forget that JAM and the Edge start again this week, and that JAM will now be accepting any children of primary school age.

Since we’re unsure what the demand will be like, we’ll be giving priotiry to those who have previously attended, and those who have registered in advance.

JAM in the park

// July 21st, 2011 // Comments Off // Events, Jam

JAM logoAs of Thursday night it’s not looking very hopeful for getting to the park for the last Friday this school year. Check back tomorrow for a final decision if the weather is looking variable.

Not to worry though, we can have all our races and fun at the church instead (and the hot dogs and cakes!). That’s the advantage of having plenty of space to work with.

JAM & Edge update

// July 5th, 2011 // Comments Off // Jam, The Edge

JAM logoThere’s still a couple of weeks of JAM & the Edge left – they finish on the 22nd July (JAM have a trip to the park, if the weather is good). We’re letting the leaders have a well deserved summer break then, but both will be back again in September.

In September, we will be extending the age range for JAM to include anyone in primary school, to fill the gap between JAM and the Edge. This to mean we may actually be reach our limit of those attending, so we’re going to be giving priority to those already in JAM (or brothers and sisters if they’re coming into the new age range), and then to those who register in advance.

If you want to register, please pick up a form on a friday night, or contact us to get hold of one.

Street party pictures

// May 22nd, 2011 // Comments Off // Events

The street party we held for the Royal Wedding went really well, we had loads of people and everyone seemed to be enjoying sitting and chatting all afternoon (and eating the cakes, and drinking the tea….)

Terry kindly let us have a copy of his photos from the afternoon, so I ‘ve added a few here.
